Based on OPEN FOOD FACTS’ philosophy of increasing transparency in the food system, Tanuki aims to provide a platform that is not confined to groceries but supports decision-making for products that are necessary for daily life.
To do so, the images and reviews of products provided by our users must conform to such values and be sound and fair.
These guidelines clarify what is and is not appropriate for the platform we aim to serve. Please refer to these guidelines when making a post or when you discover a post that you believe is inappropriate.
Users who do not comply with these guidelines will be subject to temporary or permanent restrictions or bans in accordance with the Terms of Use.
Images of products to be uploaded
- Please upload only images of products that you have taken yourself or images under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.
- Do not upload images that are copyrighted by other organizations or individuals. For example, do not copy images from e-commerce sites and upload them.
Posting Rules
- Do not post any personally identifiable information or any other information that may infringe on privacy.
- Criticisms premised on constructive discussion or low ratings for products intentionally trying to misinform consumers will help shape a better consumption system. Diverse opinions should be respected. On the other hand, baseless slander and discriminatory expressions are prohibited, as they are an obstacle to the provision of a sound platform.
- Do not make postings that lead to or encourage violations of laws and regulations or criminal acts.
- Do not post images that include people or objects unrelated to the product, or postings that are intended to direct users to other services.
- Do not post to receive money or services from a third party. Comparison of products is prohibited, as it is not a neutral evaluation if the contributor gains some profit by directing the reader to another product.
